May 31, Psalm 49

49 Hear this, all peoples;
Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,
Both low and high,

Rich and poor together.
My mouth will speak wisdom,
And the meditation of my heart will be understanding.
I will incline my ear to a proverb;
I will [a]express my riddle on the harp.
Why should I fear in days of adversity,
When the iniquity of my [b]foes surrounds me,
Even those who trust in their wealth
And boast in the abundance of their riches?
No man can by any means redeem his brother
Or give to God a ransom for him—
For the redemption of [c]his soul is costly,
And he should cease trying forever—
That he should live on eternally,
That he should not [d] undergo decay.
10 For he sees that even wise men die;
The stupid and the senseless alike perish
And leave their wealth to others.
11 Their [e] inner thought is that their houses are forever
And their dwelling places to all generations;
They have called their lands after their own names.
12 But man in his [f]pomp will not endure;
He is like the [g]beasts that [h]perish.
13 This is the way of those who are foolish,
And of those after them who approve their words. [i]Selah.
14 As sheep they are appointed for [j]Sheol;
Death shall be their shepherd;
And the upright shall rule over them in the morning,
And their form shall be for [k]Sheol to consume
[l]So that they have no habitation.
15 But God will redeem my soul from the [m]power of [n]Sheol,
For He will receive me. Selah.
16 Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich,
When the [o]glory of his house is increased;
17 For when he dies he will carry nothing away;
His [p]glory will not descend after him.
18 Though while he lives he congratulates [q]himself—
And though men praise you when you do well for yourself—
19 [r]He shall go to the generation of his fathers;
They will never see the light.
20

Is like the [t]beasts that [u]perish.

May 30 Psalm 48

Good morning,

I like to pray while I'm reading the scriptures, then I know that I am praying God's will.

Psalm 48 in bold

1) Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
In the city of our God, His holy mountain.
(me)Yes, great are You Lord & greatly to be praised.
2) Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth,
Is Mount Zion in the far north,
The city of the great King.
3) God, in her palaces,
Has made Himself known as a stronghold.
4) For, lo, the kings assembled themselves,
They passed by together.
5) They saw it, then they were amazed;
They were terrified, they fled in alarm.
6) Panic seized them there,
Anguish, as of a woman in childbirth.
7) With the east wind
You break the ships of Tarshish.
8) As we have heard so have we seen
In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God;
God will establish her forever.
(me)You are in control.
9) We have thought on Your lovingkindness, O God,
In the midst of Your temple.
(me) Help me think about your lovingkindness.
10) As is Your name, O God,
So is Your praise to the ends of the earth;
Your right hand is full of righteousness.
(me) Yes, all praise is Yours and in Your hands are righteousness.
11) Let Mount Zion be glad,
Let the daughters of Judah rejoice
Because of Your judgments.
(me) Let us all rejoice and be glad.
12) Walk about Zion and go around her;
Count her towers;
13) Consider her ramparts;
Go through her palaces,
That you may tell it to the next generation.
14) For such is God,
Our God forever and ever;
He will guide us until death.
(me) Our lives are in Your loving hands. Thank You that we are safe there.

I pray these things in Your precious name. Amen

May 28th Psalm 47

I love to pray while I am reading the word.  Teach me, please Lord.  I pray in Jesus name. Amen.

Psalm 47 in bold

1)O clap your hands, all peoples;
Shout to God with the voice of joy.
(me)Lord help me be excited and joyful in You.
2)For the Lord Most High is to be feared,
A great King over all the earth.
(me)Help me fear You and I know You are THE great King of heaven and earth.
3)He subdues people under us
And nations under our feet.
(me)Yes, Lord.
4)He chooses our inheritance for us,
The glory of Jacob whom He loves.
(me)Yes, You choose for me.
5)God has ascended with a shout,
The Lord, with the sound of a trumpet.
6)Sing praises to God, sing praises;
Sing praises to our King, sing praises.
(me)Help me praise You Lord.
7)For God is the King of all the earth;
Sing praises with a skillful psalm.
(me)You are the King of Kings, Lord.
8)God reigns over the nations,
God sits on His holy throne.
(me)Yes God, You reign and are sovereign over all.
9)The princes of the people have assembled themselves as the people of the God of Abraham,
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
He is highly exalted.
(me)I exalt You O Lord, King.  Thank You that You even think of me.  Help me bow down to You and get rid of my pride and thinking I can run things on my own.  Help me do things Your way.  Your not a King as we know kings.  You are a good King, a loving King, one that does not lie to us.  One that is trustworthy to do good for us.  You know all things and are not swayed by others. You Oh King are wonderful, mighty and powerful and we can trust You.  There is no good in a King that is not trustworthy.  Truth is in Your mouth and You speak Truth only. Sometimes we don't want to hear it but it is always good for us and for our best.  That is what You want for us.  We belong to You.  You are our Father, our creator and You know us intimately.  You know what we need and You care about what we need.  You know what makes us happy.  Obeying You is what makes us happy.  Your goal for us is not for us to be happy.  Your goal for us is that we will trust You and obey You because You know that if we do that, then we will be truly happy.  So obedience is more important than being happy.  With obedience comes freedom and happiness.  Help me Lord to obey You.  You do not force us to obey or love You.  We have the freedom to choose.  I choose to obey and love You because I want to and because You have first loved me when I was unlovable.  Help me love You and others more. Help me love others like You do.  I pray these things for my children and for all my family also.  I pray these things in Your precious name. Amen.

May 28th Psalm 46

I love to pray when I read the scriptures because then I know that I am praying His will.  Lord, thank you that You said that I can come boldly to Your throne of grace because of Jesus.  I am not worthy to come before You but You see Jesus.  Please teach me Your Word, I pray.  In Jesus name. Amen.

Psalm 46 is in bold

1)God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
(me) Yes, Lord, thank you that You are my refuge and strength and You are my help in trouble.
2)Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea:
(me) Oh Lord, no matter what help me not fear because I know You are in control.
3)Though its waters roar and foam
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.
(me) No matter how bad it gets, help me trust You.
4)There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling places of the Most High.
5)God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved:
God will help her when morning dawns.
6)The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He raised His voice, the earth melted.
(me)You O Lord do as You please, thank You that You love me and I can trust You. You are all powerful, I can trust You.
7)The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold.
(me) Lord I want You to be my stronghold.
8)Come, behold the works of the Lord,
Who has wrought desolations in the earth.
9)He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariots with fire.
(me)You O mighty King, do these things.
10)"Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
(me)Help me to cease striving and trusts in You and Lord help me exalt You at all times.
11)The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold.
(me)I bow before You and humbly ask for Your help in becoming the person that will obey You.  Help me to stop being so prideful and disobedient.  I can't do it without Your help Lord.  I don't even want to do it without Your help Lord.  I pray these things in Your precious name and because of Jesus.  Thank you for Jesus and thank you that I do not have to look within myself but I can look to You.  In Jesus name I pray amen.

May 23rd, Psalm 44

We have heard with our ears.
Our parents and the Bible tells us the work You did in the days of old.
You drove out the nations.
You put people where you wanted them.
You afflicted people.
Then You spread them abroad.
For by You, they did not possess the land.
Their arm did not save them.
But Your right hand and arm and the light of Your presence, You favored them.

You are my King, O God.
You are the One who commands victories.
Through You we push back our adversaries.
Through Your name only will we trample down those who rise up against us.
For we are not to trust in our bow.
Nor will our sword save us.
You have put to shame those who hate You.
Let us boast in You all day long.
Let us give thanks to Your name forever.
Yet You have rejected us and brought us to dishonor.
You do not go with our armies.
You cause us to turn back from the adversary.
Those who hate us have taken spoil for themselves.
You have feed them.
You have scattered us.
You sell Your people cheaply.
You have not profited by their sale.
You make us a reproach to our neighbors.
You make us a scoffing and a derision to those around us.
You make us a by word among the people.
You make us a laughingstock among the people.
All day long our dishonor is before us.
Because of the voice of him who reproaches and reviles.
Because of the presence of the enemy and the avenger.

All this has come upon us, but we have not forgotten You.
And we have not dealt falsely with Your covenant.
Our heart has not turned back.
And our steps have not deviated from Your way.
Yet You have crushed us in a place of jackals.
And covered us with the shadow of death.
If we had forgotten the name of our God.
Or extended our hands to a strange god,
Would not God find this out?
For He knows the secrets of the heart.
but for Your sake we are killed all day long.
We are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.
Arouse Yourself, why do You sleep, O Lord?
Awake do not reject us forever.
Why do You hide Your face.
Why do You forget our affliction and our oppression?
For our soul has sunk down into the dust.
Our body cleaves to the earth.
Rise up, be our help.
Redeem us for the sake of Your loving kindness.

We must hear these things but I don't really like this Psalm too much because it talks about how horrible it was for them but it is a fact that sometimes bad things happen to good people and this too is in the Lords hands and part of His plan.  We must trust Him in all things at all times.  He is trustworthy.  Sometimes I want to stomp my feet and say why Lord but then I remember who He is and that He can do as He pleases.  I also remember that everything He does is out of His love for us.  Also, He gets blamed for many things that are really our own fault, or because of our sin.  Which He has warned us will cause us and those around us pain and misery if we do them.  I am not saying when bad things happen it is because of sin or someone else's sin because it may not be.  I am getting off the subject.  Have a great day!!!

May 22, Psalm 43

Good morning, This is what I take with me when I read Psalm 43.
Defend me, O God & plead my case against the ungodly people.
Deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
You are the God of my strength.
Sometimes it seems like you have rejected me but You have not.
We will go through times of mourning.
Your light and truth lead me.
Let us stay in Your presence.
In Your presence is exceeding joy.
Let me praise You.
When we are in despair and disturbed within, hope in God.
It will show in our face.

May 21, Psalm 42

These are my thought and what I can take with me when I read Psalm 42.

As a deer pants for water, let my soul pant for You, O God.
Help my soul thirst for You God.
You are a living God.  You are alive.
We all have very good times and very bad times.
Hope in God and praise Him.
His presence helps us.
Life can seem worse at night so sing & pray to the Lord.
Sometimes it seems like God has forgotten us but He has not.
Hope in God and praise Him in good times and bad times.
The Lord helps & it shows up on my face.

May 20, Psalm 41

Good morning, This is what I take with me after reading Psalm 41.

In the day of trouble the Lord delivers the helpless.
The Lord will protect.
The Lord is the One who sustains us and restores us when we are sick if that is His will for us.
He made us and He gets to decide, He might have something better in mind for us.  Like us being with Him.
The Lord is the One who heals us when we sin.
The Lord is gracious.
When I sin, I sin against Him.
Sometimes those that we thought were friends hurt us & that is in the Lords hand also.
When we forgive, forgiveness take the pain away.
The Lord is a forever friend that will not forsake us forever and ever amen.

May 19th, Psalm 40

Treasures that I can take with me throughout my day from Psalm 40.

If I wait patiently for the Lord, which is not easy to do, he will:
1) Lift me out of despair.
2) Set my feet on a rock.
3) Give me a firm place to stand.
4) Put a new song of praise in my mouth.
I need to Pray that many will see what the Lord does & fear & trust in Him.
Happy is the one who trusts in the Lord.
The Lord does many wonders.
There is none to compare with Him.
If I would declare & speak of His wonders they would be TOO numerous to count.
The Lord does not desire sacrifice & offerings.
To obey is better than sacrifice.
Help me to delight & desire to do Your will O my God.
You have put Your Law within our hearts.
Help me be excited and happy to speak about You to others.
The Lord is compassionate.
The Lord shows loving kindness.
God's truth continually preserves me.
Deliver me from my sin.
May those who do evil be ashamed, be humiliated, turned back and be dishonored & turn to You instead.
Magnify the Lord.
We are all afflicted and needy.
The Lord is our helper and deliverer.
